![]() This is a LOT of steps for an end-user, mostly external to our company. There they have to choose the proper version: 3.3.1Īnd there they have to choose the Small Business version (the other one doesn't mention Enterprise) The MAC users were being redirected to this site: The standalone Hub version has an 8-character alphanumeric code. The Enterprise version has a 6-digit code, numbers only. It's possible to make it a LOT easier for your users, by downloading this file and hosting it on your Intel HUB directly. While Windows users were presented with the installer/executable they need (hosted on the device), Mac users were being directed to a series of download pages at Intel, where they had to guess the installer number, and guess whether they use the "no remark" version of the "small business" version. It seems end users were being directed to a confusing set of downloads, through the Intel Unite web page. ![]() These have disappeared for a few days, but seem to reappear whenever the device is doing Windows updates. On a sidenote: When first installing the device, when it was updating Windows & Bios, I got some warnings about overheating. More details over on Intel's boards: Opens a new window I've got a few days to save this thing from "demo status: major fail & time wasted". Tried to work around sensible network security by disabling Windows Firewall on Hub & client side. Tried to work around the issue by setting up my own IIS webpage on the Hub, pointing to Unite's folder / htm file structure. If anyone recalls my last case with getting HP support in Belgium, it's similar now: It can take up to a week to get a reply. Tried to get support from HP Belgium for this demo. Installed, uninstalled, and reinstalled various Unite versions (last one recommended by Intel support) Updated almost all drivers and BIOS on the slice The Slice is a nice looking (expensive) piece of desk decoration. When our sales rep told me he had a demo Intel Unite lying around, packed inside the HP Elite Slice, I thought: wow, this is what I've been looking for to swap out that Chromecast dongle on our meeting room beamer.Ībout 2 weeks later, the Chromecast is still doing it's work.
